Phil’s Pulsation ::
Posted on April 14, 2014
So Phil won a 6139-6020 ‘Pulsations’ from me off ebay not so long ago, it was a really good example, ‘proof’, 2 part seconds hand and on the silver dial. I think ever since Phil’s been looking for the black dial to match it, and this is what has turned up. Very nice, just needing a little sorting out.
As well as not really working as a time piece there was a tiny scratch on the dial that we were keen to see if we could ‘disguise’, just a little.
All stripped apart.
And then putting back together again. Oops, big thumb print needs to come off that!
For the dial scratch I carefully touched it up with a needle and some black Tamiya paint. Not ideal but it should be far less distracting to the eye.
Shown here we can see the light reflects differently, but this is under bright light. In daylight it should look just fine.
And all back together again and working very nicely.
Not really thinking, I’ve set the hands over the scratch, I’ll take another pic with it all cased back up.
I can thoroughly recommend Tom to service your watches, I have bought a silver Pulsation from him and he has now serviced two of mine, a blue Seiko 6139 and a black Seiko Pulsations. He is very knowledgable and extremely helpful. Thanks again Tom
Just received this back from Tom, he has worked his magic again, absolutely superb job.
Many thanks again Tom
